Myntra reduced seller onboarding time from 15 days to just one or two, a 90% cut, using AI. The drastic efficiency gain comes from automating catalogue creation and product photography, major bottlenecks for smaller brands. For thousands of D2C brands, this means faster market entry and quicker access to Myntra's customer base.
Myntra showcased these AI deployments at its mynnovAIte technology event held on July 16 at its Bengaluru headquarters. Chief Product Officer Lakshmi Narayan Swaminathan stated AI solves familiar problems faster, rather than entirely new ones, underpinning the event's message.
Myntra plans to adapt the configurable Saarthi platform for other internal teams, expanding its voice-based workflows. The impact on seller activation rates, defined as reaching 100 orders, will be a key metric to watch over the next two quarters.
🇮🇳 Why This Matters for India
For the thousands of micro-entrepreneurs and D2C brands in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities selling fashion online, these AI tools directly lower the barriers to entry and operational overhead on a major platform.
The Take
Myntra is betting AI can significantly reduce marketplace friction, making it easier for new sellers to scale rapidly. The real winner here is Myntra itself, by lowering supplier acquisition costs and increasing inventory breadth faster than competitors.
